Zachary's Eagle Project

Zachary led his Eagle Project on December 19, 2009. He had a lot of great volunteers join him. They did a great job helping the City of Scottsdale at Pinnacle Peak Park.

 

 

 

 

Christmas Eve 2009

One of our family traditions is getting new pajamas on Christmas Eve. The kids have plenty of PJs so I decided to change things up a little this year. They (and Ken) received plush throws similar to one the I got this summer that everybody likes to steal. I have to admit - Ken's new blanket is even softer than mine - so now I am stealing his.

Here is our "green" (or lazy) version of a holiday card. We are not even organized enough to do this during Christmas, so we shot for the beginning of January!

ZACHARY and the LETTERMAN JACKET

Grandma Marilyn was very excited that Zachary made Varsity his Freshman year (swimming). She offered to get him his jacket for birthday / Christmas / Hanukkah. Zachary gladly accepted her offer and now has a jacket to wear for 4 years.

Living in Arizona has its drawbacks (only if you like to wear warm clothes). He will only be able to wear the jacket for a couple months each year. This is why I love Arizona!

 

Zucchini in December

Zachary and I came home after his swimming a couple weeks ago to find a very pleasant surprise. I planted Zucchini in September and it has produced about five 6-inch zucchini and a myriad of 2-3-inchers. Lexi went out to see if we had any we could eat for dinner that night and found this monster hiding behind some leaves. It tasted great and I think I made at least 6 meals out of it (most of those meals were my lunch, oh how I love zucchini soup - but it did feed the family twice). 

Check out how the seeds are not huge and hard.

I love gardening! It really shows me how Heavenly Father is in charge! Who else could take a small seed and turn it into a monster Zucchini.

OLIVER

Zachary just finished another Don Bluth production. He played Mr. Noah Claypool and did an outstanding job! He was also a variety of other characters as you can see from the pictures.

Don is such a wonderful influence! He is always encouraging the kids to do their best.

A good friend of ours Mike Shaldjian as Fagin. Ken asked him to fill in for a couple of performances for Arsenic and Old Lace.... he ended up as Doctor Einstein for that production and Fagin for Oliver.

FIGHTING WITH A PALO VERDE TREE

Lexi ran into a Palo Verde bush / tree yesterday right before soccer. We think the Palo Verde won the match. She was so brave, look she is still smiling! She even went out and did the soccer drills after the incident. I feel so bad for her - wish her well.

We need the after picture with her all bandaged up - she looks like half a mummy.
